Episode 49 – Food, Glorious Food!
In many places around the world, winter holidays are a time for feasting. However, as a culture, we surround our food — and our time for eating — with guilt and fear. We “grab a bite” and rush through our meals. We eat distractedly, many of us even eating at our desks while working. We tie food to our body image. We act very picky about what is considered “good” or “healthy”, and we beat ourselves up for eating “bad” foods. We have destroyed our joy and our enjoyment of eating.
In today’s meditation, we open our capacity to enjoy a meal, fully present, with all of our senses alive, fully appreciative, and full of joy.
